This page originally credited the two images below to Willy Hendtlass as artist (this was based on an attribution given by the German Historical Museum (DHM) in 2005). However, a check of the reference in March 2017 shows that the two images are, in fact, the covers of two publications for which Willy Hendtlass was credited as editor. The graphics are unsigned and the artist unknown. I think the error in interpretation was mine and there is no evidence that Willy ever produced artworks under his name.

Willy Hendtlass is best known for two books:

  • J. Henry Dunant (1960), a biography of the Red Cross founder
  • Solferino (1958), the battle where Red Cross founder J. Henry Dunant first got his idea to protect the wounded in wartime.

I have left the two images below for reference, but updated the legends to reflect Willy Hendtlass' correct role.
